Summary
August Šenoa: The Peasant's Revolt
Šeno's novel "The Peasant's Revolt" presents the social and political conditions in Croatia during the 16th century, in order to explain to the reader the true cause of the revolt. Namely, after the defeat of Ivan Zapolje against Ferdinand of Habsburg in the war for power in Croatia, there was a division of nobility and powerlessness. If the danger from the Turks is added, the situation becomes even more complicated.
