Work is a gift, although Balog bluntly diagnoses a disturbed society that has lost the connection between work and gift. In addition to that critical and somewhat satirical intonation, Balog reads also the nostalgic one about disappeared occupations or talks about practical and hard occupations, occasionally interspersing regular and useful occupations, and very witty poetic miniatures that bring play and joy back to work.
