The narrators are two brothers whose mother is Algerian and whose father is German. They grew up in the Paris suburbs with their father's friend, an Algerian immigrant, and their parents stayed in the village of Aín Deb, near Setif. In 1994, the GIA massacred the inhabitants of Aín Deb. The pain of the two brothers due to mourning for their lost parents becomes even greater when they are hit by an even harsher knowledge of who their father really was, a German who bore the prestigious title of Mujahideen...
