Summary
Michalis Pieris: Descents into Hades, Exiles, Epiphanies
This anthology, in its first, shorter form - as the author himself says - appeared, almost by itself, from the mess of my documents. Of course, I prepared it many years ago (almost twenty), but I completely forgot about it, as if it never existed. That was the period when I started compiling an anthology on the theme of "metamorphosis" of cities in my poetry...
Poet, translator and university professor Michalis Pieris was born in Cyprus in 1952. He studied philology and theater in Thessaloniki and Sydney and worked at many universities and research centers in Greece, Europe, America and Australia. He published short stories, prose texts and plays, as well as a large number of studies in the field of medieval, Renaissance and modern Greek literature. He published nine collections of poetry, and he also translated foreign poetry into Greek, as well as ancient Greek plays.
