Bunker Max

Summary

Max Bunker: On behalf of the Mafia

Detective Finzi goes to the United States because his secretary won a trip for two in a lottery. Upon his arrival in New York, he witnesses a murder and very quickly finds himself involved in an affair between the FBI and the New York mafia. The mob boss sends him in search of his nephew Charlie, who plays a key role in the transfer of power from the old generation of bosses to the new. The search takes him to Los Angeles, where he meets the captivating blues singer Sharon... The sensational series of novels about detective Finzi by the cult Italian comic author Max Bunker is more popular in Italy than even his series of comics about Alan Ford. The domestic audience finally has the opportunity to get to know the brilliant Milanese private detective Riccardo Finzi, whose cases were made into the feature film Agenzia Riccardo Finzi... practically a detective. Finzi's nonchalance and dexterity, characteristic of noir crime protagonists, are mixed with comic cynicism and causticness typical of all Bunker's characters, and the novels from the detective Finzi series have a distinctive burlesque-black humor note. Luciano Secchi, better known under the pseudonym Max Bunker, comic screenwriter, publicist and journalist, is the creator of world-famous Italian comics, the most popular of which is Alan Ford. In his youth, he wrote plays, but to the great happiness of his readers, he decided to write comic scripts. After several years of cooperation with the publishing house Corno, in 1983 he founded his own publishing house Max Bunker Press, in which he figures as Number One. The first issue of the Alan Ford comic book was published in 1970, and in Yugoslavia at the time, it soon became the most read foreign comic book and gained cult status. The lexicon of Croatian translation in the masterful performance of journalist, editor, writer, screenwriter and translator Nenad Brixy entered the language code of pop culture of all post-Yugoslav countries.
