Virginia Woolf - biografija

Harris Alexandra

Summary

Alexandra Harris: Virginia Woolf - biography

Virginia Woolf's prose affects readers even today, perhaps even more strongly than ever. This is the story of how a persistent young woman who never left her notebook became one of the greatest writers of all time. This unusual biographical account is an ideal introduction to the life and work of Virginia Woolf. Each of her books is considered in context, with which Alexandra Harris traces the reasons for the longevity of Virginia Woolf's work and shows why, seventy years after her death, she continues to haunt and inspire us.
"Wonderfully clear and meaningful." - The Washington Post
"An eminently readable and unpretentious study of measured style and striking content, perfectly accessible even to those who have always avoided the works of Virginia Woolf." – Daily Mail

Cultural historian and writer Alexandra Harris is an original new voice whose debut, Romantic Moderns, a study of interwar English literature, was met with enthusiasm. Born in Sussex in 1981, Harris studied at Oxford and the Courtland Institute in London. He currently teaches English at the University of Liverpool.
