Summary
Mattias Edvardsson: Mysterious Deaths in Lund
When the famous pediatrician Steven Rytter does not show up for a scheduled operation, the hospital in Lund reports him missing. Police officers Larsen and Hemström arrive at a villa in an elite city district, see a motionless body through the kitchen window, and then find another one upstairs. These are Steven and his wife Regina, a former beauty from a rich family who was bedridden by a mysterious illness more than a year ago.
Is this family tragedy a robbery gone wrong, femicide and suicide, or are there some mysterious motives behind the crime? Can the testimony of the housekeeper Karla, her landlord Bill and his former friend Jenneka lead the investigation on the right path?
Mattias Edvardsson's brilliant thriller Mysterious Deaths in Lund is a tense story about love and its illusion, friendship and temptation, but also social injustice. Told from the perspective of the protagonist and intriguing until the last page, this novel is worthy of the company of the best Scandinavian thrillers.
