Summary
Ramon Muntaner: Catalan Campaign to the East
Catalan chronicler, member of the infamous Catalan Company ("Company"), Ramon Muntaner in Catalan Campaign to the East gives us an exceptional and valuable account of the events from the beginning of the 14th century that shook the Byzantine Empire and remained in the long memory of its inhabitants and descendants. This is a passage from a longer Chronicle, which, due to its uniqueness and importance, was published separately for almost a hundred years both in Spain and in other countries. This source is also indirectly important for our national history, because it sheds light on the events related to the robbery of Sveta Gora and Hilandar and the disruption of the balance of power in the Balkans at that time.
