Summary
Sonja Makek: Croatian-Hebrew conversation manual
The Hebrew language belongs to the Semitic language group and is the main official language of Israel. The Hebrew name for the language is Hebrew. Its roots are in the classical Hebrew language that was used in the writing of the Old Testament (in Hebrew Tanah). The Jews used the term Lashon Hakodesh (Holy Language) for it because the books written in it were considered sacred. With the establishment of the state of Israel, the Hebrew language becomes the official language of Israel. About 9 million people speak it. The manual was written with the aim of familiarizing its users with common conversational forms in the Hebrew language and serves as an incentive for further familiarization with the Hebrew language and culture.
