Summary

Zdravko Cikuša: Kremanska ročanstva

Tellings of Miloš and MItro Tarabić

The desire to know the future is certainly as old as the thought history of man, regardless of the environment in which he lived out his existence on this planet. Our prehistoric ancestor, insecure and unprotected, limited this desire to "tomorrow", thinking only about how to feed himself. When he began to use various tools, which gave him security in obtaining food through hunting or tilling the land, his interest extended further.
I believe that at the dawn of mankind our ancestors did not bother to predict the distant future, although we will never know if some of them, unencumbered by everything that the later progress of civilization brought with them, walked the line of time far ahead, staring confusedly at beautiful or terrifying images, not realizing that they were crossed a threshold that is incomprehensible even to us today, touching eternity.
With the rise of ancient civilizations, when the intellectual rise of man began to be intertwined with greed, the desire for power and wealth, the urge to look beyond time also grew. The powerful simply wondered how much more wealth they would gain from the war campaigns, while the oppressed hoped that the future would bring them a final release from torment and slavery.
