Dostojevski Fjodor Mihajlovič

Summary

Fyodor Mihajlovič Dostoevsky: White Nights and Little Hero

From the cover:

The short story White Nights belongs to the list of the most favorite titles of the literary great Fyodor Mihajlovič Dostoyevsky. There are several reasons for its popularity today: first of all, Bijele noci is a relatively short prose text of a simple fable, seemingly, but only superficially, trivial: a lonely dreamer walks through the city at night daydreaming about/in his world, until one summer evening he accidentally meets a "fatal" girl and his life changes completely... And just in that, "let's say", classic discourse and emotionally charged narrative, and even more so in the author's an additional reason for the popularity of White Nights can be read in the unsurpassed artistry. The story itself flows smoothly, apparently, but only apparently, tenderly and drinkably, because the inner "restlessness and passion" bursts from every line, threatening to overwhelm the readers, but there is no fear - White Nights is a superbly executed text, everything is under control.

In fact, countless stories have been written about loneliness and love, but this one was written by Dostoevsky, and it is one of his most beautiful, and that is more than enough said!

Interestingly, almost two centuries after the story was written, the spirit of the times woke up again and at the end of 2024, on the most popular social networks, mainly intended for younger users, White Nights became the most recommended book! And so the old dusty book became a literary, bookish and bookish "phenomenon"... Isn't that phenomenal!?
