Mian Mian: Bombon
A novel by a Chinese writer, real name Sheng Wan (b. 1970), which tells about the Chinese "Generation X", adolescents who discover "sex, drugs and rock'n'roll" at the end of the eighties of the last century and surrender to them completely. In 1989, at the height of the student revolution (suppressed by the Tiananmen Square massacre), seventeen-year-old Hong left school and her native Shanghai and went south to the town of Shenzhen, an oasis of hedonism located in the middle of the newly opened so-called Special economic zones. Hong becomes a bar singer there and indulges in promiscuity, alcohol and drugs...
