In this extensive and exciting novel, the author connects the rich people of the East Coast and the tragic upbringing of the main character, who is only thirteen years old at the beginning. He is Theo Decker, who survives a terrorist attack in the Museum of Modern Art that kills his mother. He takes a picture of a goldfinch from the museum, which will draw him into the world of art and the world of crime. The author received the Pulitzer Prize for the book.
