Secession binding
Luka Marjanović collected these songs directly in the field, mostly in western Bosnia (Krajina). The main tellers (singers) were local Muslims, among whom the singer Salko Vojniković stood out. Theme: The songs sing about historical and legendary heroes, battles, duels and events from the time of the Ottoman Empire on the border with Christian Europe (e.g. characters such as Đerzelez Alija, Hasan Pasha Predojević and others were sung). Significance: This collection represents one of the most important and comprehensive sources for the study of epic traditions, language and folklore of Bosnia and Croatia in the 19th century.
