The book with an expressive title, on more than five hundred pages, brings a representative selection of 88 fairy tales richly illustrated with drawings by the best Norwegian artists of the last century. The fairy tales are preceded by a very detailed and informative introduction by the editor and translator Munib Delalić, in which, among other things, he mentions that his selection was based on the two-volume original of two of the most famous Norwegian collectors. Full of incredible and miraculous events based on imagination, along with some common motifs and themes characteristic of world fairy tales, Norwegian fairy tales are enriched with certain local specificities such as nature, trolls, . . . they stand out for their humor as well as the fact that these fairy tales hardly know violence.
