Summary
Thirteen short stories by Emina Đelilović-Kevrić, an author already recognized in our literary public for this genre, take us into the foggy and slippery areas of humanity where it is possible to try to save ourselves. Sons who are not given their mother's love, mothers who do not ask for love from their children, a soldier at the moment of transition from one world to another, seasonal workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania in a shelter for victims of violence in Germany, a war criminal who is losing his memory... all these characters are trying to save themselves from this worldly adversity, be it physical or mental, and at least for a while feel whole. Writing in a harmonious and easy sentence, with rhythmic shifts of lyrical outbursts and realistic depictions, the author brings us closer to the miserable, but also attractive characters that we may not want to become, but it would be worth trying to imagine ourselves in their places.
