Summary

David Albahari, Mirjana Ognjenović: False fairy tales

Illustrations: Slavko Krunić

Adhering to the well-known explanation that it is not known when fairy tales were created, and that their nature is wandering, that they easily pass through time, places, social strata, and they manage to create a storyteller from the listener - three pairs of hands, people overwhelmed with a sense of poetic humor, rush towards the same goal: to convince themselves that stories have no the end. That the fairy tales they once heard and read - and did not forget - can have an infinite number of versions. And just as many different lessons.

Persistently striving to discover the secrets of life that have worried them since childhood - and searching seemingly familiar terrain - David, Mimi and Slavko have the impression that knowledge is constantly eluding them. Thus, they confirm that writing is always a kind of hiding something that is necessarily revealed later. The reader is left with the task of interpreting the last day of the fable without words through the "Centaur" illustration at the very end of the book. Let him afford the pleasure of telling stories, as well as giving lessons. Which is why he won't have a chance to be angry with the narrator!
