Summary
Anton Pavlovič Chekhov: About Love
novels and short stories
Some of the most beautiful stories came out from under the pen of doctor Chekhov. But he had a hard time breaking into literature. After many rejected stories, he received five kopecks per sentence for the first published one. He didn't give up - in addition to his job as a doctor, he persistently wrote and sent stories to various newspapers, but even though the editors started publishing his stories, at least ten of them would reject one published. He wrote and sent, but he no longer signed them... When literary circles finally recognized him, he became a "doctor of storytelling".
