Summary
Nicholas Sparks: The Lucky One
A novel based on the movie of the same name.
US Marine Logan Thibault finds a photo of a smiling young woman in the sand in Iraq; his first impulse is to throw it away, but for some unknown reason he carries it with him. Soon, unexpected luck follows him - he wins at poker, survives skirmish after skirmish, even the deadliest one in which two of his friends will die. Only his best friend Victor thinks he has an explanation for it: that photo is a talisman and brings good luck to Thibaut.
After returning to his native Colorado, Thibault can't get that photo out of his head. Convinced that the woman in the picture somehow holds the key to his destiny, he embarks on a long journey to find her, but what he doesn't expect is that Beth, the strong yet vulnerable woman he meets in North Carolina, will be exactly what he's been hoping for all his life. A passionate love begins to blossom between him and Beth, but his secret soon threatens to tear them apart.
The Lucky One is both a tender love story and a suspenseful drama that represents Nicholas Sparks at his best - an unforgettable novel about the unexpected paths our lives sometimes take and the power of fate to lead us to true and lasting love.
