The case that puzzled the investigator Krsta Pavlović Belgrade, summer 1939. While Europe was sliding towards war, a murder took place in Terazije that shook the city. Prominent industrialist Božin Bojović was found dead in the basement of his own house, in an unfinished shelter. The traces of the perpetrator have been lost, but the circumstances of the murder indicate that the crime was carefully planned. The case is taken over by investigator Krsta Pavlović, a man with sharp instincts and a restless spirit who searches for the truth where others do not want to look. What at first seems like a crime committed for the sake of self-interest, soon grows into a complex web of relationships: a disunited family, ambitious heirs, seemingly loyal housemates, secret relationships, old debts and veiled threats. As the circle of suspects narrows, it becomes clear that the killer is not just playing hide and seek, but is starting a race. A race with the police, with time and with the truth that is slowly coming to light. In a city that awaits the inevitable, where the past and the present collide, the question is getting louder and louder: who will reach the finish line first?
