Summary
Literary fiction no. 6 - the work of Edgar Allan Poe
The symbolic theme of the Literary Fantasy edition for 2019 imposed itself. This year marks 210 years since the birth and 170 years since the death of Edgar Allan Poe, an American poet, storyteller and literary theorist, one of the main representatives of American romanticism. Poe left an immeasurable mark on the literature of the 19th century by opening new horizons, establishing and reshaping genre patterns with his works which, like his biography, contain many dark and shadowy places. He is remembered as the creator of the detective story, one of the progenitors of the modern horror story, but also of science fiction, since his "Melonta Tauta" from 1849 (which could be another nice anniversary) can be classified as the prototype of the science fiction story.
