Kasimir Edschmid: On Expressionism in Literature and New Poetry
The published texts in this volume were created on the basis of the author's speeches, which he gave in order to present the picture of the situation as clearly as possible and provide the necessary clarifications about expressionism in literature, as well as new poetry, but in no case to postulate a program. Nevertheless, these texts can be read in this way. Finally, a speech on expressionism was held in December 1917 before the "German Society" and the "Union of German Artists and Scholars". Speeches on German poetic youth were held in May 1918 in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Lund.
