Veduta shows the fortification system of Senja consisting of two systems of walls. The western one that really existed, and the eastern one that was proposed but never built. Veduta also shows the Nehaj tower, it shows the walls of Senj and the Nejah tower that rose above the city

Matthaus Merian (1593-1650) was a German topographer, graphic artist and publisher. His most famous works are "Theautrum Europeam..." and "Archeologica Cosmica". Both works were published several times.
