Strasburško izdanje iz 1562. sveobuhvatno je, polemičko-povijesno djelo luteranske reformacije koje u dvadeset knjiga okuplja one „svjedoke istine“ koji su, prema Vlačiću, već prije Luthera proturječili papinstvu i njegovim zabludama. Svezak je prvi put objavljen u Baselu 1556. i ponovno je predstavljen 1562. u znatno proširenom izdanju „emendatior & auctior“. Ova verzija smatra se konačnim oblikom djela i, s preko 600 listova, monumentalni je folio svezak ranonovovjekovne crkvene historiografije. Vlačić (1520. – 1575.), jedan od najradikalnijih luteranskih teologa, a ujedno i suinicijator Magdeburških centurija, nastavio je program s „Catalogus testium veritatis“ rekonstrukcije povijesti crkve kao lanca skrivenih, ali kontinuiranih antipapinskih glasova. U dugim odjeljcima, poredanim po stoljeću i osobama, citira crkvene oce, srednjovjekovne teologe, pokrete, mučenike i skupine koji su, prema njegovu tumačenju, doveli u pitanje središnje rimokatoličke doktrine čak i prije reformacije. Ulomci, citati i sažeci njihovih spisa sastavljeni su i smješteni unutar dosljedno protestantsko-polemičkog interpretativnog okvira. Izdanje iz 1562. nadopunjuje prvu verziju dodatnim izvorima, dodaje Auctarium i detaljne indekse osoba, subjekata i citata, nudeći tako svojevrsni znanstveni referentni rad protiv "papizma". Završni listovi sadrže stare marginalije.

The Strasbourg edition from 1562. is a comprehensive, polemical-historical work of the Lutheran Reformation that gathers in twenty books those "witnesses to the truth" who, according to Vlačić, contradicted the papacy and its errors even before Luther.

The volume was first published in Basel in 1556. and was re-presented in 1562. in a much expanded "emendatior & auctior" edition. This version is considered the final form of the work and, with over 600 leaves, is a monumental folio volume of early modern church historiography.

Vlačić (1520 – 1575), one of the most radical Lutheran theologians and co-initiator of the Magdeburg Centuries, continued the program with the "Catalogus testium veritatis" of the reconstruction of church history as a chain of hidden but continuous anti-papal voices. 
In long sections, arranged by century and person, he cites church fathers, medieval theologians, movements, martyrs, and groups that, according to his interpretation, challenged central Roman Catholic doctrines even before the Reformation. 
Excerpts, quotations and summaries of their writings are compiled and placed within a consistently Protestant-polemical interpretative framework.

The 1562. edition supplements the first version with additional sources, adds the Auctarium and detailed indexes of persons, subjects and quotations, thus offering a kind of scholarly reference work against "papism". End leaves contain old marginalia.
