The Zohar, or Sefer ha 'Zohar (The Book of Shining), is without any doubt the main work of classical Kabbalah. It is not a book in the usual sense of the word, but rather a collection of tracts of different volumes, whose form is nevertheless a coherent whole. The Zohar is a commentary on the Torah, incorporating numerous smaller tractates, added in the margins, or collected in an appendix that accompanies the chapters. A number of these tracts were placed in a special section, which was called Zohar Hadash (New Zohar), and the third section consists of tracts called Tikunej Zohar (Prepared Zohar). (...)
