Summary
Louis de Bernieres: The Red Dog
During one of his trips to Western Australia in 1998, Louis De Bernieres found a bronze statue of the Red Dog and wanted to know who it was dedicated to. He didn't have to look long. For miles around, everyone knew the story of Red Dog, a lovable eater who happily ate everything: bags, sticks, butterflies, feathers and socks, and who found his own mode of transportation, hitchhiking around Australia. On his travels, he met a wide variety of people, happy and unhappy, kind and less kind, and all of them had one thing in common, they all wanted to adopt this independent, smart and brave dog. But he only wanted one man, a charming and young driver whose love life will suffer precisely because of him.
