Summary
Ivo Andrić: History and legend
Perhaps history and legend are the two key words in Andrić's poetics. Hence the title of the book: *History and legend* (essays, essays, articles). The editors have divided the texts in this book into three parts. In the first part, under the title *Creator and Language*, Andrić's general, mostly theoretical texts are included. Since this part of the book is primarily about the man-creator and the problems of language, style and words, the editors decided on the title *Creator and Language*. The second part of the book, entitled *History, legends, poetry*, contains essays and essays on works, writers, artists and other figures from spiritual and socio-historical life. In the third part, entitled *Events, books, events*, Andrić's comments on books and events from cultural and social life are collected. It should be noted that some texts in both books of essays are devoted to the same topics, which leads to partial repetition of content. Therefore, these texts can be understood as variants of the same theme. We felt that such texts should also be included in this selection.
