Summary
Ivo Andrić: Family picture and other stories
In the book Family picture and other stories, we publish thirty-two short stories, many of which were not printed in Andrić's short story collections, and thus remained little known to the wider reading public. Collected and presented chronologically in this way, they give a clear picture of the writer's subject of occupation in the period from 1914 to 1951. On the one hand, the early Andrić, preoccupied with questions of the inner turmoil of his heroes or the position of the individual in the civil milieu of the European environment, on the other hand, a writer who reaches for topics related to the turbulent and rich history of Bosnia, and then an author who deals with the social side of the lives of his heroes.
