Tonči Petrasov Marović: The Book of Water
"The Book of Water" is the second collection of poems by the prominent Croatian writer Tonči Petrasov Marović, published in 1962 in Split under the auspices of the Subcommittee Matice hrvatska. This collection marks the official beginning of his recognizable hermetic and reflective poetic oeuvre, in which the motif of water runs through as one of the fundamental symbols of his early poetics.
The collection was printed in a modest but historically important format for Split's post-war modernism, and today it represents a rare and valued antiquarian copy and an indispensable point for the study of contemporary Croatian poetry of the second half of the 20th century.
