William Shakespeare: King Lear
Shakespeare's tragedy "King Lear" is considered one of his greatest works. In it, the title character ends up in madness and a tragic death because of his decisions and mistakes: he distributed his kingdom to his daughters based on their flattery. A series of intrigues and cruel events, the culmination of which is the blinding of Gloucester and Lear's wanderings, lead to a tragic disaster: King Lear is considered Shakespeare's "most tragic tragedy". It was created and performed most likely between 1603 and 1606, and was first published in 1608.
