The theme of the novel is evil in man, but the author has no ambition to defeat it with some sentimental scene of love and repentance, but rather with scenes where evil devours evil in hatred, revenge and self-destruction. The atmosphere of her novel is imbued with extreme pessimism, the inexorable logic of nonsense, but life must still be lived in order to crave, hate, shine, destroy others and be destroyed. Aranđel Vidić, the main hero of the novel, breaks all ties with the world with a sharp brush and goes to ruin. Although in Daniela's novels pessimism overpowers all the joys of life, the protagonists in her stories still look out the window, into the world, in which they now discover all that they neglected when they were happy. The literary mastery of the author is said without hesitation at the highest level. For her, writing means living. To live in the world of your protagonists, to forget about unbearable circumstances and to show the light to others, to get out of the tunnel of meaninglessness. Because every protagonist, in every novel and every story, is searching for meaning.
