Summary
Tony Parsons: A New Beginning
Police officer George Bailey was given a gift we all dream of sometimes - the chance to be young again. After he suffers a heart attack at the age of forty-seven, he is transplanted with the heart of a deceased nineteen-year-old - and his life suddenly changes. He is no longer just a good husband but also the best lover of his wife, he becomes a good friend to his minor children, and not a strict father who controls their every move.
George Bailey now wants to change the world, but after a while he discovers that being young again is not so much fun - his wife Lara doesn't want another teenager in the house, and the children don't need another friend, but their father - and now George wants his old life back more than anything in the world.
This is a story about how we grow up and grow old, how over time we give up our youthful dreams for something more valuable and about how long it actually takes us to finally understand some things.
