Lars Saabye Christensen: Sense of Place
Lars Saabye Christensen (1953) is one of the leading writers of contemporary Norwegian and Scandinavian literature. He is a versatile and prolific creator, novelist and novelist, poet and playwright, author of film scripts, writer for children and young people... He is one of the most widely read and loved Norwegian writers. He is the winner of numerous awards, including the biggest Scandinavian literary award, the Nordic Council for Literature award. His books have been translated into many languages.
In the novella book Feeling of Place there are nine prose works that have in common that all the characters did something they shouldn't have done, something that resulted in unexpected events and strange turns. The main characters are men, mostly husbands whose marriages are on shaky legs and who, in order to save their marriage, try to please their wives ("if married life is sailing, what will we do when there is no wind", asks one of his characters). All of them were thrown headlong into extremely unpleasant, often comical, and sometimes really painful situations.
