Marijan Grakalić, writer, editor and publicist, has so far published a poetry book »Poems from format: about love and other supernatural phenomena« (2014). The book of poems "Songs of Lost Summers" already in its title indicates a nostalgic tone, a turning to the past, but not in the sense of the position of someone who would only be a laudator temporis acti. The past is not glorified, nor put in opposition to the present moment, which is not just falling out of the golden age. The author actually avoids the position of the narcissistic subject, so common in contemporary poetry, he wants to "get out of his skin", transcend the limits of this world, "translate from ancient languages". Therefore, he strives towards an expression that is classic, measured, separated from the particularities of everyday life.
