Summary
Saviniana contains a selection of fragments and thoughts from twenty books of Albert Savinio's books, arranged in twenty thematic-problematic sections and a wider selection of critical quotes about him. Alberto Savinio, (1891 – 1952) was the pseudonym of Andrea de Chirico, three years older and the first brother of the famous painter Georgio de Chirico (died 1978).
Savinio achieved noticeable results as a composer, and excellent as a writer (especially essays, novels, novellas and plays) and painter. He has posthumously published seven monographs, and the following spoke highly of him: Guillaume Apollinaire ("live"), Guiseppe Ungaretti, Eugenio Montale, Leonardo Sciascia, Giorgio de Chirico and others.
Only one complete translation into Croatian of »Gospodin Dido«, Croatian edition in 2015, along with magazine contributions, provided a small insight into the work of Neo-Renaissance Savinio, author of works such as: Maupassant and others, Fate of Europe, New Encyclopedia and others.
