Summary
Cornelia Funke: The Lord of Thieves
An exciting and skillfully written novel about two brothers, Prospero and Bo, who flee to Venice after their mother's death, as far as possible from the evil aunt Esther who only wants to take care of Bo, thus separating them. He hires a detective to find them, announces a reward. The children join a gang of thieves led by the Lord of Thieves. He takes good care of them. He brings them food and clothes, finds them a warm shelter. But the Lord of Thieves hides a secret, which, when revealed, casts a completely different light on the small, close-knit group. Will this secret tear them apart forever? Or maybe a task that they decided to do to order? Between imaginative, tense, lines full of plots, we find a sad story about children without parents, children of rich parents, about unfulfilled wishes, children from orphanages... a story about growing up of some who were not pampered by life.
