Summary
Terry Pratchett: Stamping Money
An offer like that you can't refuse.
Who wouldn't want to be in charge of the Ankhmorpor Royal Mint and the bank next door? It's a job for life. However, as ex-con Wlaz von Lipwig will discover, life doesn't have to last long.
The head of accounting is almost certainly a vampire. He has to walk the president of the board every day. Something indescribable is happening in the basement (and the basement itself is quite indescribable). It turns out that the Royal Mint is operating at a loss. A three-hundred-year-old sorcerer is trying to kidnap his girlfriend, he himself has just been exposed, and maybe the Assassin's Guild will get hold of him before then. In fact, many want him dead. Everywhere he turns, he just piles up enemies, and supposedly piles up...money.
