Summary
Viktor Ivančić: Zlomovina: 99 pamphlets
People indulge in statolatry in different ways, and often with different motivations. When they are seized with a flood of warm feelings towards the state, they are ready to do or refuse to do very different things. It is not uncommon for patriots to gouge out the eyes and pull out the guts of patriots because of insufficient, excessive or freakish indulgence in patriotism. Sometimes the complete so-called political life can be presented as a repertoire of conflict and bloodshed over the method of worshiping the official deity. The consecrated entity itself, of course, remains untouchable. The patriotic matrix, with a base in the form of romantic abstraction and not at all abstract protection provided by legislation and the police, is seductive enough to accommodate countless, even mutually antagonistic, users. These texts, admittedly in vain, encourage it to be completely rejected.
