Summary
Those who know about Fr. Martin Nedić today, regularly know him through his writing work. Brother Martin was the first writer in Bosnia in the 19th century who spoke in verse (as early as 1835).
Nevertheless, despite his sincere enthusiasm for the people (and he almost always sang about it), he did not succeed in becoming a real poet, so his works in prose are more attractive than his verses.
Even today, it is interesting to read his "State of the Order of Bosnia Srebrena" (1884), which represents the first attempt to present the history of the Bosnian province during the Turkish era; although written warmly, this work too, due to the lack of sources and other reasons, had to be incomplete and deficient.
