Nastanak i učvršćenje reformacije
Delumeau Jean
Summary
Jean Delumeau: The Origin and Consolidation of the Reformation
It is important to first clarify the meaning of the words Reformation, Protestants and Counter-Reformation. The first was in common use at the end of the "Middle Ages". It signified the inner purification that every believer had to do in himself in order for the Christian world to be rejuvenated, and especially the transformations in terms of poverty and holiness that were expected of the church. But, after Luther, the word reformation meant the restoration of the church that began in 1517 outside of Rome, even against Rome. We still use it in that sense today. However, since the Protestants opposed each other, after the Lutheran Formulation of Concord, the spiritual successors of Zwingli and Calvin declared themselves Protestants, in order to better distinguish themselves from the Lutherans. The Treaty of Westphalia confirmed this appointment, which has also been maintained to this day.
