Summary
Borivoje Adašević: The Equilibrist
Obsessive questions of literature and art in general - penetrating into the secrets of existence and death - conceived in The Equilibrist, received their full form and a hint of possible answers in Adašević's last book, From lists of things kept silent. The title story of his first book was one of the key references when creating the marvelous and compositionally unusual and secretive story "File 64".

Placing his characters and events in a central European setting, Adašević created a whole universe of people from another world. It is not the world from which his protagonist emerged, but it is the world he collides with, comes into contact with, visits, gets to know, leans towards and belongs to, a world that reveals to him that life is full of death - individual disappearances, disappearances of people, and mass murders - and which, in the end, he leaves, returning home. "Then I suddenly jerked. I realized it was time to complete my circle."
