Summary
Alice Hoffman: Sea Tales - Aquamarina Indigo
In the novel "Aquamarina" Hailey and Claire are neighbors, but also best friends. They spend the long hot summer days at the local beach club, dreading the end of the season, when Claire will move with her grandparents to Florida. After a storm that brought sea waves far to the shore, the girls discover a mysterious presence at the bottom of a nearby pool - a mermaid separated from her family and looking for love.
In Indigo, thirteen-year-old Martha Gimmer is convinced that she is going through the worst period of her life. Majka joj je umrla, ona je narasla gotovo osamnaest centimetara, i osim toga mora trpjeti ženu koja njezina osamljenog oca opsjeda hranom i savjetima o ponašanju djevojčica u najosjetljivijoj dobi. Martha dreams of leaving Oak Grove, just like her best friend Trevor and his brother Eli, who have strange habits, like salting their drinking water or releasing frogs from the school's labs. But the escape of the three friends is interrupted by a storm that forces all the peculiar characters to face their true nature.
Alice Hoffman once again introduces us to the world of reality with magical everyday life. Baveći se temama djetinjstva i adolescencije, ova nam magična pripovjedačica donosi svoj neponovljivi spoj čudesa i stvarnosti ispod mora. Od plimnog vala žudnje do skrivenih struja gubitka i nade, Hoffman ponire u dubine ljudske čežnje...
