Summary

Marin Bego: Down our coast: our people and regions

Marin Bego's book Down our coast is not a travelogue, but it has all the characteristics of a travelogue; it is not a sociological study, but it is full of direct observations, and which even today, after many decades since its creation, has preserved all those dear, old deposits that make each of our coastal towns interesting and unrepeatable. They are arranged in a series of masterfully designed sketches of the most important coastal cities: Trieste, Zadar, Šibenik, Split and Dubrovnik. In the second part of the book, there are also short observations about our people and regions outside the Adriatic coast. The following are sketched: Primorski, Lička, Slavonia, Bosnian and Herzegovina regions and Hrvatsko Zagorje.
