Summary
Robert Jordan: The New Spring
The wheel of time turns and Ages come and go, leaving behind memories that become legends. Legends fade into myths, and myths are long forgotten when the Age that spawned them reappears. In the Third Age, the Age of Prophecy, the World and Time hang in the balance. All that was, all that will be, and all that is can still fall under the Shadow. The battle raged for three days in the snow around the great city of Tar Wallon. The prophecy was uttered in the city. On the slopes of Dragon Mountain, a huge mountain towering above the city, a child was born who was prophesied to change the world. That child must be found before the forces serving the Shadow arrive and kill him. Moiraine Damodred, a young Accepted soon to be elevated to Aes Sedai, as well as Lan Mandragoran, a soldier who fought in the Battle of Tar Valon, have set foot on paths fraught with danger. Moiraina, a descendant of the royal house of Karihien, whose king has just died, and Lan, who is believed to be the uncrowned king of a long-lost land, soon find themselves threatened by the machinations of those hungry for power. A new spring begins with Moiraine and Lan's quest for the Dragon Reborn, which will eventually lead to the events described in Zenica of the World and their fateful encounter with Rand al'Thor.
