Summary
Christine Angot: Rendez-vous
A deeply layered novel about a love that the author would rather live than write about. Writing caused her stress because it doubled the emotional charge. It was too intense a feeling that mentally exhausted her. The layered nature of the experience stems from the deep wounds she carries within herself due to a sick love relationship with her father, then with an older man from the rich strata of society. In that love game, the awareness of the impossibility of having another is born. It was only through writing that she managed to achieve her own integrity, which fell apart in real life.
