In his short novel or extended novella, Maxim Biller reconstructs an unpreserved letter from Bruno Schulz to Thomas Mann from 1938, which reveals the intimate, erotic and political fantasies of the two writers, as well as the fates that befell them in World War II. Maxim Biller, born in Prague in 1960 to Russian parents, emigrated with his parents and sister to Germany. He is the author of about twenty books, novels, novellas, short stories, plays, essays, which, apart from Germany, were successful in the Anglo-Saxon world. He is the winner of several international awards.
