Summary
Dragan Velikić: Via Pula
"The novel begins with a dry enumeration of information from the identity card of the main character, neuropsychiatrist Bruno Gasparini, before it immediately explodes into a firework of stories, characters, events from different times, which simultaneously intertwine - canceling all chronology - in stone, in lofty and dilapidated palaces, in Roman ruins and Austro-Hungarian villas, but above all in the head of the main character. Confessions patients - in the old Orlando palace converted into a mental asylum - eventually expand the doctor's psyche so much that they cause him to lose his sense of space-time relations."
- Claudio Magris
