Summary
Isiker Mehmet: Croatian-Turkish conversation manual
Turkish is the mother tongue of 80 million people, making it one of the languages with the largest number of speakers. It is an official language in the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It belongs to the southwestern branch of the group of Turkic languages, which are part of the Altaic language family. The manual was written with the aim of introducing its users to basic conversational forms in the Turkish language and enabling them to navigate the most basic communication situations in that language. Given that the interest in learning the Turkish language has been growing in Croatia lately, this handbook tried to be a small contribution in that sense, but also an incentive for further acquaintance with the Turkish language and culture.
