Summary
Jovan Jovanović Zmaj: Đulići; Đulić uveoci
Generations grew up and matured emotionally with Đulić (1864), a poetry collection in which Zmaj sang about the gradual development of his love for Ruža Ličanin, her happy marriage, as well as the first signs of marital and parental happiness; a poetry collection that still has the status of "the best canon of civil love poetry in our country". In Đulići uveoci (1882), on the other hand, the illness and death of his beloved wife, as well as other beloved poets: children, parents, sisters, relatives and friends, are sung in an elegiac tone. In this collection you can find some of the most moving lines of Serbian poetry. Dragon's poetry is a stripped-down poem from the heart of a humanist who, even in the darkest corridors of his soul, finds light and maintains faith in man and the future.
