Plautus' favorite themes were love intrigues, and he was happy to show cunning slaves and bright young men outsmarting their masters and elders. Plautus's comedies are characterized by a skilfully conducted plot, witty and witty dialogues and successful figures of speech, which made him a role model for such writers as Shakespeare, Moliére and Držić. This edition brings seven comedies of Plautus (among them The Proud Soldier and Ćup) translated by Branimir Žganjer and accompanied by an afterword by Antun Pavešković.
